Privacy Policy: Atlas of Ages
Effective date: 9 October 2026
Who is responsible
Atlas of Ages is made by Niclas Witthöft, a private developer in Germany. Contact: support.AtlasOfAges@proton.me. The postal address is in the imprint on the game's website (https://niclaswitthoeft-aoa.github.io/atlas-of-ages/).
In short
Atlas of Ages is a single-player game. I run no servers and use no advertising, analytics or tracking. I do not collect, receive, sell or share your personal data. Two optional Google services connect to the internet: Google Play Games (sign-in, achievements and leaderboards) and Google Play's billing system (the one-time Full Game purchase). Google handles that data under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
What stays on your device
The game keeps these in its private storage on your device: your saved games, your settings, your achievement progress and statistics, achievement and leaderboard updates that wait for a connection, and whether you own the full game. Nothing of this is sent to me. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data in your device settings deletes it. If your device backs up app data (for example Android backup), that backup is governed by your device provider's terms.
Google Play Games
If you are signed in to Google Play Games on your device, the game signs in automatically; you can also play without it. While signed in, the game sends to Google: the achievements you unlock and your leaderboard scores (victories, games played, the highest difficulty you have won, and the number of turns of your fastest ranked victories). Google links these to your Play Games profile (gamer name and avatar) and shows them to other players according to your Play Games profile visibility settings, for example on leaderboards. Google also collects technical diagnostics and usage statistics about its Play Games software, to keep it stable and improve it. I do not receive your Google account's e-mail address. In the Google Play Console I can see leaderboard entries and summary statistics. You can delete your Play Games data in your Play Games profile (https://play.google.com/games/profile) or in your Google Account (https://myaccount.google.com).
Purchases
The Full Game purchase and promo codes are handled entirely by Google Play. I never see your payment details. Google gives me transaction records (such as an order number, the product, price, country and date), which I keep as long as tax law requires (in Germany up to 10 years).
Permissions
The game uses internet access (only for the Google services above), vibration (short haptic feedback) and Google Play's billing permission. It does not use your location, contacts, camera, microphone or files.
Legal basis
Where the GDPR applies: providing the game, its optional Google features and the purchase you choose to make (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and keeping transaction records required by law (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to complain to a data protection authority (in Germany, the authority of your federal state). Because I hold almost no data about you, most requests concern Google; write to me at support.AtlasOfAges@proton.me and I will help.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Transfers outside the EU
Google may process Play Games and purchase data outside the European Union, for example in the United States, under its own safeguards.
Changes
If the game changes what it does with data, this policy is updated before that version is released, with a new effective date.
